This is great that Sordo will be running in Argentina. It was really exciting to see Dani's pace on gravel after that great showing last rally. I wonder if he can show some of that with the Fiesta...

Wilson is happy to get Sordo to Argentina. If rumors come true and Latvala goes to Volkswagen next year, it could mean good news for Sordo. He never really got a fair change in Citroen.

Latvala going to Volkswagen? I think it is more likely he'll be unemployed next year

Jari-Matti needs to cool down when he is leading a rally. He is fast but he can suddenly become careless. He needs to learn to drive relaxed. Switching to VW could be even a good move for him. I can't remember anyone breaking a bone in cross country skiing. What is the next headline. "Latvala fell down from the edge of a carpet and broke a rib bone". Well, I wish not and I wish he gets well soon. He is a fast driver and I believe he will be driving in WRC for many years

NZ would be out next year anyway if the rotation with Rally OZ continues. Rally Australia is pushing for a yearly rally instead of rotating with NZ, and there's also been talk of both missing out completely. Who knows what they'll do, but if they're going for more rallies outside Europe, they could fit a few extra rounds into the European summer break. I suspect the teams would whinge about the cost of a 15 round WRC though

Reppo, I read also about that from some Finnish sites yesterday. I think that it would be a shame to loose the Acropolis rally...

Acropolis should stay in the calendar. Where Jyväskylä is one of the fastest, Acropolis is one of the toughest. Dusty, rocky roads with high temperature is rough. Could be that this month rally will be the last there for a long time. Pity

Not WRC but rally anyway. Too bad this happened http://www.france24.com/en/20120519-france-race-car-rally-crash-draguignanQuote: Racecar crashes into crowd at French rally, killing two
A car competing at the 14th annual Maures regional rally in France's southern town of Dragugnan crashed into a crowd of spectators on Saturday, killing at least two people and badly injuring about 15.
By News Wires (text) AFP - A rally car ploughed into the crowd during a race in southern France Saturday, killing at least two people and badly injuring about 15, including children, firefighters said.
The orange-coloured car competing in the 14th annual Maures regional rally veered off the road at Plan-de-la-Tour in the Var region near the Mediterranean coast, killing a 20-year-old spectator and a race marshal, 50.
Among the injured, four including two youths aged 12 and 17 were critical. A nine-year-old boy was also wounded.
"The toll could worsen," Stanislas Cazelles, an official from the Draguignan commune, told reporters.
He added that the second day of the rally has been cancelled, "given the gravity of the situation."
The public prosecutor in Draguignan, Danielle Drouy-Ayral, said an official from her office was en route to oversee an investigation.
According to initial reports, it appears the driver, whose identity has not been released, made a mistake at an intersection where he was supposed to turn right, but instead drove straight ahead, crashing into the spectators.
"The priority is to find out the causes of this accident. The vehicle will be examined. The driver of the vehicle, who is in shock, has been hospitalised and placed in custody, and the co-driver will be heard," said a prosecutor Julien Ficara.
Investigators have begun collecting photos and footage from spectators, in order to determine the circumstances of the accident.
Visibly shocked by the accident which occurred around 4:30 pm (1430 GMT), several competitors at the rally were in tears.
Minister for Youth and Sports Valerie Fourneyron said in a statement that the accident poses "a serious question of public security during automobile events."
"With the interior minister we want to meet the concerned people as soon as possible, in order to take necessary measures quickly," she said.
Several fatal accidents have occurred recently during car rallies in France.
On April 28, a 65-year-old spectator, who was at a zone that was off limits to the public, was hit by a car during a rally in the south-east of the country.
On November 12, a 19-year-old was killed during a rally in eastern France.

It's been a pretty black weekend for rallying. There was also a very serious accident in Belgium where driver and co-driver died. I suppose the French will really investigate what happened yesterday in that accident with the spectators, everybody says the driver drove straight in a junction, instead of turning right. But having spectators in the "straight on" area in junctions is always absolutely forbidden.
On a slightly better news, Dennis Kuipers has already left hospital after the very serious accident he suffered in a local rally in Germany a couple of weeks ago. As far as I know, his co-driver is still in hospital.

The car in French rally crash looks really bad. The driver and co-driver both have 15 years experience of racing. Mechanical failure?
