Mika was brilliant. The best. Kimi is fine too, very fast, very good when attacking, but not so good when defending. Still a bit too many mistakes, even if he's improved. Heikki hasn't impressed me so far. Keke R I can't say, never saw him race.

Mika is not only a good driver but also very cheerful and colorful person. I do miss him. I will never ever forget his retire in Spain 2001 on the final lap and hitchike to his team mate Coulthard in order to return back to the pits after the race. I remember him always smiling and making jokes especially on Michael. They are very good rivals, especially on Mika's side. Michael was a little bit "ambitious"
One more thing: When Schumaher broke the race-winner record in a race (I don't remember what the race was), he cried in the press conference with his brother Ralf and Mika were beside him. Ralf just looked at his elder brother but Mika put his hand on Michael's shoulder comforting him. I can't forget those moments, I really do love him although I am a strong Michael supporter.
Thus, to me, Mika is the best Finnish but Kimi is the best driver.

I choose Mika too.
He was great on track and human off track (and sometimes on track too).
Luckily, his driving could still be appreciated in DTM after he called it a day in F1.

In statistics Mika is still ahead of Kimi. Of course it's impossible to know how well they would fare against each other because they weren't in top teams at the same time. I think that Mika was more superior in qualifying and his general form was good too, but maybe he was more prone to race mistakes. In that sense I think that Kimi is by pure race speed the fastest Finn and likely one of the fastest drivers ever. Kimi can also handle pressure incredibly well. But yeah, hard to tell really. Maybe Mika felt more like a legend to us Finns back then. Kimi's had some bad years in McLaren because of the bad reliability. But when given a somewhat reliable car Kimi has showed how he can dominate too so I'd say Kimi is the best Finnish driver.

Why does a Finnish have 'nen' in their surnames? Like Kimi Raikkonen, Mika Hakkinen, Heiki Kovalainen.

Well I guess it might be to indicate "son of" condition as may be the same case with other countries for example in Sweden, they use "-son" affix for this purpose as far as I know: "Andersson = The son of Anders" The son of Raikko. The son of Hakki. The son of Kovalain. Or I am a big liar
