You're so lucky you live in such a big city with such a nice circuit. I think i'll call you whem I will arrive you there not necessarily to ask something but to chat. Leave me your number by PM and once again, thank you for all your help.

Hi

Can Ali or anyone who else who may know help me out?

I've booked flights and tickets for Istanbul GP but am now looking for accommodation.

I gather Taksim Square is the place to get buses/taxis easily to the track although Sultanahmet is the better place to stay for sight seeing.

Can anyone advise where is the better area to stay. I'd like to stay at Sultanahmet for the sights and see more traditional Turkey but will it be too difficult to get to the track early from here? How long/easy is it to get form Sultanahmet to Taksim?

Or is Taksim an equally good place to stay instead of Sultanahmet?

Any help or advice would be much appreciated :)

PS. anyone know any good hostels?

Yep :)

I had also answered the same questions before so you may want to look at them first. If those are not helpful for you, I'll be here for your questions.

Many thanks Ali. I have used a lot of your information from the other post to choose tickets etc.

I have contacted The Chillout Hostel in Taxim and another hostel in Sultanahmet. Both have a bed. I just need to choose which one to take.

I'd like to stay in Sultanahmet as it seems to be a more traditional area of Turkey with many sights although I am worried it maybe difficult to get to the track early from here.

Would you recommend staying in Taxim in order to get to the track easier?

Yeah absolutely. Rings will be departed from Taksim Square at each 30 minutes or so. It will be way easier for you to stay in Taksim.

Furthermore, to me, Taksim is way better than Sultanahment also in terms of accomodation but of course it is all down to you. Sultanahment is not far from Taksim, so you can go there if you want even on foot on such a shiny beautiful İstanbul day. It's really nice to walk on the way between Taksim and Sultanahmet (On the way there, You'll see Tunnel, Galata Tower, Golden Horn, Spice Bazaar etc.). It'll take your 30 minutes to get there. And you know what, in Sultanahmet there are more tourists than Turkish people :) So you won't lose anything to stay in Taksim. It's much cheerful, energetic and exciting. (Tbh, I get a little bored in Sultanahmet but of course you should see there too).
