Monaco, oh I wished I was still there. It's such an awesome place, such an awesome region. I am definitely going back ...
Me and my mom originally planned a 4 day trip to the Côte d'Azur. (including Nice, Monaco, ...) We booked a hotel in Nice and were preparing ourselfes for a good time. But then the Monaco Grand Prix got moved 7 days. Which meant we would actually be there when the F1 circus was there as well. As soon as I told my mom about the change she said that it was okay if I wanted to go and I said yes of course. We booked tickets for A. Noghes which was (according to a lot of sources on the internet) the best place to sit.
We arrived at Nice airport on Tuesday evening. Too late to visit something, so we went straight to the hotel. Wednesday we visited Nice but the headliner was still to come...
Thurday : I woke up on 6:45 in the morning, took a shower and went to the train station in Nice. I think we were first there as the train was almost empty. The connection Nice-Monte Carlo is easy to take, and 20 minutes later I was in Monaco for the first time in my life. Formula 3.5 was already testing out the track and soon got followed by Formula 1. A few minutes before Practice 1 a lot of drivers went from the Paddock to the pits. My mom was taking pictures and I was filming. We saw Button, Alonso, Trulli, Kovalainen, Webber, Vettel, Petrov, Kubica and probably much more people. But it all went so quickly to realise it that I actually forgot a lot as well
What I saw from my point of view on the left side ... ... and the right side.
Session 1 started and the atmosphere got better everytime an F1 car went past. I saw Alonso getting veeery close to the barriars and .... well I actually saw everything as I was sitting in front of a huge TV screen. Then, when session 1 was over we decided to visit the local 'F1 market'. Lot of people selling little cars, books, clothing, ... For Practice 2 we changed from seat and took the right side of the A. Noghes corner. There wasn't much action in this session but I filmed much and just being so close to an F1 car is awesome.
Short compilation I uploaded on youtube including some parts of my video's I took during practice session 1.
At the end of Practice 2 it started raining a little bit so GP2 was going to be exciting. I convinced my mom to get up the into the hills. It started raining more and more, and eventually missed all the action live. But I saw it on TV screens. And again, just being there and listening to the sounds of a racing machine is awesome.
After the GP2 race we went to Fontvieille (the new harbour) and the Monaco Palace. From there I saw a little bit of the Porsche Supercup race and afterwards we went back to the hotel. Some funny finns where on our train as well. Singing finnish songs all the time and waving with a flag
Friday : we were only at the track around 10 o' clock in the morning. This because the day before begun very early and because we didn't expected much action that day. But we were wrong. Friday was a great day. In the morning I saw the GP2 race from the inside of St. Devote and the Piscine grandstand. Afterwards we tried to get into the pits, but only people with tickets for Saturday and Sunday were allowed there. The paddock was open for anyone though. And I spend almost the complete afternoon being there and taking pictures of everyone. Something I totally didn't expected to happen... I enjoyed myself very, very much that afternoon. I was so stupid to leave my official program in the hotel so I couldn't ask any signatures. Anyway, I saw : Kubica, Sutil, Buemi, Kobayashi, Hartley, Alguersuari, Webber, Vettel, Liuzzi, Bernie Eccelstone (!), Jackie Stewart (!) Petrov, Martin Brundle, Allard Kalff (dutch TV ), Adrian Newey, Christian Horner, Eric Bouiller, Ricciardo, Heidfeld and probably a lot more from less than 3 meters I think. (Saw Felipe Massa and Michael Schumacher, Norbert Haug and Willi Weber as well but they were too far away) I took a lot of pictures. 774 in total. Here's a little selection. If you want to see some other pictures, ask. Questions ? Ask.
The eventful start of the GP2 Race. (Thanks to my mom who took the picture )
Amateur video of the crash by me.
Mark on the Red Bull Boat.
Robert with some fans.
Took over 20 pictures of Buemi but this one is my favorite.
Big boss Bernie

Well, I went to some races at Spa (unfortunately not F1) in the past and never felt myself so close to the cars as in Monaco.
I have to say our tickets didn't cost that much . Only €70/person + Administrative costs. Expected much more for a Monaco ticket tbh.. One final tip, buy your tickets via the ACM. (Automobile Club de Monaco) That way you'll always be sure your tickets are real.
About the pictures, I think I have to dissapoint you as almost all of our pictures failed because my mom accidentally changed some things on our camera. Anyway, tell me what you think about it. If you want some more, i'll post.
the schumi pic is really good, and looks very close, really nice, post some more, can u tell me if u can buy the ACM tickets at the track like on all the other races?, or trough internet for Monaco ACM ticket, so far i always buyed my tickets at the track when i arrived there

mann before i die i must go to Monaco gp
I bought my tickets via the internet. You can buy them at the track as well. But you need to be very lucky. Best places are sold out by then. The Rocher zone is free on thursday though ! (grey part on the picture underneath)
Pictures of the Rocher zone : Picture 1 shows the way that leads to the Rocher. (Rocher is on the left and right side) Picture 2 shows the view you get from the Rocher zone (View changes from where you are on the Rocher hill. If you are on time, you'll have the best places)
Remember : there are NO ! seats in the rocher zone. You can compare it with the long straight in Spa (between Kemmel and Les Combes)
Wow thanks for that ! I am in it, yes.. Underneath the white Tribune sign. I look real weird on that picture,, isn't it Coopz. You saw some of my msn pictures.
EDIT : Alex, where do you got that picture from ? Maybe there are some other ones from my corner.
