Sutil must be favorite at Williams now. Especially as he was seen there around the same time as Kimi. I think he was covering his back knowing his seat was probably gone at FI.

that's a great news to see Hulkenberg back in F1, he's a talented driver, but in Force India things can get nasty when two young drivers start to beat each other, that can be a disaster for a team that is on top of its career
A craven can be as brave as any man, when there is nothing to fear. And we all do our duty, when there is no cost to it. How easy it seems then, to walk the path of honor.

Quite a roster of solid/good young drivers who haven't got seats next year as it stands:

Sutil
Buemi
Alguersuari
Petrov
Senna
Kubica
D'Ambrosio
No, I'm not calmer. Just more jaded.

No surprise to see the Hulk and di Resta at Force India next season. That was just one big not-so-secret secret. But I think Sutil has been handed a raw deal but think it's a good bet he'll be in the second Williams next season.

Both Toro Rosso driver getting the axe was a surprise though. Though one may have made way for Ricciardo, but both going was a shock. Think that's Buemi done and dusted in F1 for the time being, but wondering if some Spanish sponsors will get behind HRT and back Alguersari for the second seat there? Bit of a step down for the lad but at least it's a seat.

Also, Maldonado may lose his backing from Venezuela - reading some stories not all is rosy with that. If his sponsors pull the plug, then perhaps Petrov could use his rubles to convince Frank to give him a run. Always a possibility...

If Petrov remains in F1, it'll likely be with Caterham. That's my understanding anyway

Then what about Kubica? Third driver won't keep his race pace up, GP2 or similar might be an unhelpful step back (plus it generally isn't done once settled in F1). He could be another Massa - never the same after his injury, with the added inconvenience of being out of a seat for a while.

Kubica may well be Ferrari's reserve driver and get unlimited use of an F60/F10 at Fiorano

I think he's free on January 1st.

If he regains full fitness I have no doubt he'll replace Massa. But I think he needs to be in a car by about June to even stand a chance of getting his fitness back.

So now Montezemolo wants Sutil.

Ferrari interested in Sutil as replacement for Massa

http://www.f1zone.net/news/ferrari-inte ... a-2/11106/

Today MTV3 a Finnish TV broadcaster reported Montezemolo saying:

"- All the necessary ingredients to win are there. Felipe knows that next year is very important to him, but we also have to give him a competitive car. If we succeed, I am confident that we can find again Felipe, who gave us so much and was able to be faster than Michael and Kimi, said Montezemolo."

He must be playing mind games to cheer up Massa. 2012 will be Massa's last year in Ferrari.

If Alguersuari can get some sponsors he might end up to HRT. There is time but would it be a wise decision to go there.

HRT Says Second Driver Decision ‘Not Urgent’
http://formula-one.speedtv.com/article/ ... ot-urgent/
"We're not going to be at the same level as when we finished this past season, where the same team had been running for two years, but we're aware of that.
"We're taking a step back so that we can take two forward."
