Why is it the BBC commentary features someone else ? I was expecting Eddie Jordan & DC .. These new commentators are dumb and boring .. They don't concentrate on what is happening on the track ...

It's practice. There isn't a huge amount to talk about.
I like them actually. They answer questions people have sent in and they talk about the things you don't hear about in the race commentary. Much better than Jonathan Dullard... sorry, Legard!

You can't expect them to commentate excitedly on practice, they have about 3 hours of coverage to fill. In cricket and baseball when games go on forever they talk about other things, its natural.

I actually love how this track looks. Which is to say that I like how it LOOKS, in terms of the cars driving round it (spectacular first section, cool last two corners, two fast straights) and I definitely lik the fancy twilight-racing thing and the ridiculously good-looking blue striped run-offs. Of course, whether this is all conducive to a good race is another matter entirely.
No, I'm not calmer. Just more jaded.

The track itself is nothing special, just another flat point-n-squirt track like Bahrain or Valencia. But the setting really is beautiful, better than Valencia or Singapore (I kinda like the desert feel of Bahrain as well).

So far in GP2 Asia we've seen very little passing, even on the long straight and the pass for the lead was done in the pits but now we have a SC for debris on track.

A shame I missed it. Luckily Eurosport will show a replay of it this afternoon

It was good in the middle and near the end, but only because of SCs

BBC Sport's Sarah Holt in Abu Dhabi:
"Morning! If possible it feels even hotter out here in the desert - so good luck to those drivers in third practice, who already have to sweat it out through 50C temperatures in their cockpits in normal climes. The desert dust has provided a bit of fun - well, we think it was fun - in the drivers' car park this morning. Someone has written "over-worked and underpaid" on new world champion Jenson Button's road car. He's not signed a contract yet for 2010 with Brawn - is this a new negotiating technique? If it works, I'll try a similar tactic when I return to my Volkswagen in west London."

Very clever Jenson- I know you did it! :p
