A Chilton in F1. Maybe this really is the week the world ends.

As expected, the First Lap Nutcase stays on for 2013.

Game over for Kobayashi!

But he made it clear F1 or nothing.

F1Zone story on no F1 for Toshiba

---

Disappointing for him, but we'll only be able to judge when we see how Hulkenberg and Gutierrez get on next year. Kobayashi was undone by DRS robbing him of a key advantage - overtaking prowess.

Unfortunately, the time was still short and I am not able to secure the seat with competitive F1 team for 2013. I have to admit that it is very sad and feel sorry for fans and Japanese companies who supported me. But I am still confident to make it happen in 2014.
I don't know but I think he should've started with that donation project once he knew he's out of Sauber. You can't blame the teams because it's business, but I really hate when they tell a driver to wait, and then they fire him at the end.

I don't know when he was told, but it was done before Austin. Press release said something about 'these final two races', despite the announcement being made during Brazil.

He must have known that he was out when the team was reluctant even after his podium. Hulkenberg news was done Japan/Korea time and Gutierrez's promotion was obvious. Especially when Perez was too ill for FP1 and miraculously recovered for FP2

No Kobayashi and no Alguersuari. It's nice when things happen exactly as you wanted. Not. ::oops:;

2013 is gonna be all about ALonso but I'll miss supporting someone from the midfield.

Maybe the Mayans were right.

:lol:

He's a talented chap, and still astonishingly young considering he's been around for a long time. Finance has undoubtedly helped and he isn't the #1 candidate from the junior series. But he won't be embarrassing. But it's interesting to see a British pay driver... nevertheless, if it helps Marussia financially, it's a bonus. Although if I was going to pluck a British driver from GP2, it'd be Calado. Without a doubt.

Yeah definitely. I remember him making his F3 debut on his 16th birthday, nice present from Daddy. :p His speed seems pretty good (at least relative to this year's GP2 field...), but as has been highlighted before his overtaking and wheel-to-wheel racing leaves a lot to be desired. Will be interesting to see how he fares given he won't exactly be leading from the front in a Marussia!

With him and Gutiérrez we are very close to there being a current F1 driver younger than me for the first time. :p

3 season in GP2 and just 2 wins. But bringing $18M is better than nothing.

I saw him in Abu Dhabi, he's very slim. He has the body of a woman :p
